2017 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

The 15th edition of the Italian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition took place in Verona from 16 to 18 February 2017, hosted by Università degli Studi di Verona

The Federation of the Clans of Atans (Applicant) and the Kingdom of Rahad (Respondent) appeared before the International Court of Justice to settle their differences concerning the Sisters of the Sun.

The case presented the following issues:

  1. Transboundary aquifers;

  2. Obligations to world heritage sites in danger;

  3. Repatriation of cultural property; and

  4. Cost of refugee crises.
